Citizens’ comments need to be heard

Dear Editor,

At the Feb. 9 Board of Supervisors meeting four people spoke about various issues of importance to all the taxpayers of Charlotte County. Do you — the taxpayers — have any way of knowing what was said? No … not unless the county changes course. Why? Citizens’ comments have not been recorded in the board minutes. They are in other counties.

Meetings in this county are at 1:30 p.m. — a time most citizens cannot attend. Meetings in most other counties are between 6-7 p.m.

This newspaper printed nothing about the citizens’ comments. Why? You need to ask them.

The bottom line — you, the taxpaying citizens, are uninformed. You deserve better.
