Wylliesburg man dies in crash

On Saturday at approximately 7:15 p.m., a two-vehicle accident claimed the life of Irving L. Goode, of Wylliesburg.
According to the Virginia State Police, the accident occurred on route 608 about a half of mile west of route 633.
Tyree Craddock, 58, of Red Oak was driving a 1993 Chevrolet S10 when he ran off the right side of the road; overcorrected and crossed the centerline and hit a a 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage head on driven by Irving L. Goode, 46, of Wylliesburg, said the State Police.
Goode was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash and Craddock was transported with minor injuries.
Three passengers in the vehicle driven by Goode were injured, including owner of the vehicle Cheryl Simmons and two male juveniles. All three passengers were transported due to injuries, said the State Police.
The vehicle driven by Craddock sustained an estimated total of $4,000 in damage and the vehicle driven by Goode sustained approximately $5,000 in damage.
Craddock was charged with driving under the influence.
The investigating officer in the incident was D.A. Thompson.
