Hazel “Bonnie” Watts Brown, 81

Hazel “Bonnie” Watts Brown, 81, of Charlotte Court House, VA, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 22, 2015.  Bonnie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Shirley Brown; her children, Richard Dwight Brown (Judy), Michael Bruce Brown (Janice), Deborah Brown Parsons (Randall), and Robert Gene Brown (Hope).  Bonnie had nine precious grandchildren, Rick Brown (Melody), Randall Chase Parsons, Amy Brown Hathaway (TJ), Rebecca Brown Johnson (Derrick), Meredith Brown Reynolds (Stephen), Jesse Parsons Perrone (Dana), Emily Bruce Brown, Robert Taylor Brown, and Michael Thomas Brown.  Bonnie also had four beautiful great-grandchildren, Dustin Johnson, Parker Hathaway, Ada Gray Reynolds, and Hunter Hathaway.  She is also survived by one brother, E. C. Watts and a sister-in-law Hazel H. Watts.  She had numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her father, E. C. Watts, mother, Lily M. Watts; three brothers, Robert Watts, John Watts, Carroll T. “Shorty” Watts; two sisters, Lois W. Sublett and Polly W. Green.  Bonnie loved her family and always worked very hard taking care of them.  Even after a courageous battle with cancer and continued declining health, she found the strength to prepare the dinner meal for all of her family to come and enjoy.  She was a great cook and homemaker.  Bonnie was very active in her church, Bethel Baptist Church in Phenix, VA.  She served as a Sunday school teacher, WMU director, and served on many committees.  Bonnie was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and she is with him now.  Praise God!  The family wishes to thank all her family, friends, and neighbors who have been so caring to her.

The family will receive family and friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home on Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m.  A celebrations of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Bethel Baptist Church in Phenix, VA, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
