Traditions continue

Charlotte County has had a lot taking place lately. Just recently there was the Homecoming parade, Friday night football game and then the Trucker’s Parade on Saturday.

Although most counties celebrate the same type of events each year, there is something special about a Charlotte County tradition.

It could be the reuniting of family and friends who live far apart and are visiting town. It could be the beautiful scenery amplifying the mood … or it could just be that Charlotte County is a magical place that we all love to call home.

The feeling of being back around Charlotte was a great one to have. But, continuing to experience traditions in a different light — reporting and photographing events — has opened my eyes to just how wonderful this place is and always has been.

Being in Charlotte County, among all the great people in the area, makes me feel like I am a part of something bigger — a part of something to be proud of.

Charlotte County residents should be happy to live in such a peaceful, community-based place. They should appreciate all the quirks and funny traditions we stand by each season.

I know I do.
