‘Tea at Three’ held

- Among those who attending “Tea at Three” were Jane Taylor, Liz Gielow, Kathy Deegan, Emily Richardson, Cay Walker, Patricia Eubank, Lise Burnett, Nan Ackerman, Lucy Currin, Barbara Rooney, Nancy Crowder, Bonnie Bew, Jessie Ruff, Ann Paul Switzer, Ellen Burnett, Jennifer Mackintosh, Nancy Talley, Mary Ellen Turnbull and Dr. Susan Hundley.
The John Goode Chapter of the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century celebrated its third annual afternoon tea entitled “Tea at Three” on Saturday, Sept. 19, at The Boyd Tavern in Boydton.
In attendance were special guests Virginia President Emily Richardson, former Virginia President Kathy Deegan, Librarian General Nan Ackerman, Rev. James Blair, Chapter President Barbara Rooney and Meherrin Chapter President Lucy Currin.
Tea and refreshments were served, and attendees were entertained with a visit from Alexander Boyd, second owner of the Boyd Tavern in the early 1800’s.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the purchase of genealogical books to be distributed in local libraries and to The Fisher House of Richmond.
