1. What is the biggest issue facing the school division and how do you plan to address it?

Allocation of state funding is a contributing factor that our division faces; evaluate budget to ensure we are maximizing revenue and advocate for increased funding to meet the needs of our children.   

2. Two options have been presented in an effort to replace the county’s elementary schools, ranging from $14 to 26 million in cost. What option do you support in upgrading the schools?

It is my opinion that a consolidated school would provide a more conducive learning environment to meet the needs of all of our children. It is more economical and would provide sound financial savings.

3. What steps should the division take to increase student SOL scores?

My opinions are as we strive to excel in all areas, we must remain proactive with assessing instructional needs and maximize available resources to ensure our teachers have the tools needed to achieve and maintain the goals.
