The National Rehabilitation Awareness Foundation (NRAF) uses a week of September every year to teach people about the incredible benefits that rehabilitation brings to the quality of life for many.

Additionally, they work to create programs which “aim to increase opportunities for the nearly fifty million Americans with disabilities, and help those who  are disabled live up to their fullest potential.” This year the National Rehabilitation Awareness Week fell on Sept. 20-26.

The point of the celebrated week is to thank to physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech language pathologists that work to promote functionality and normal living activities for their patients, promote continuation of therapy after home health in the outpatient setting, encourage loved ones to seek rehabilitation therapy if they are having issues with daily living tasks, educate referral sources about what rehab can do for their patients every opportunity you have and help others learn basic techniques to promote  mobility and functionality to reach their highest potential.
