Grace Community Church turns two

On Feb. 14, Grace Community Church will celebrate two years of ministry in Charlotte County. The church invites all to visit the church on that day at its regular meeting time of 4:30 p.m., which will be followed by a family meal. The church is located next to the Dollar General in Charlotte Court House at 515 George Washington Hwy.

Pastor Robert and Yvette Perrin is a retired military couple who moved to Charlotte in May 2011. Robert has a Masters of Divinity with other degrees received over his 26 year military career.

Yvette is a national speaker and the regional trainer for Stonecroft Ministries. She has a bachelor of science in christian counseling. As a couple, they have been in ministry for over 25 years.

After moving to Charlotte, the couple started a community Bible study in their home. As the Bible study grew, it was apparent that the Lord had plans for this group of believers who wanted to make a difference in their community. The result is a family-oriented church that welcomes all people including children, seniors and the disabled which fosters “Love Jesus and Love People.”

This is expressed as the church supports each other and they support their local community. They worship as a family, fellowship as a family and serve as a family.

GCC is a non-traditional church that meets in a casual setting on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. which is followed by a family dinner. The evening time fits as the pastor was led by the Lord to start later in the day.

The teaching of the church is Jesus centered. Although Robert is an ordained Baptist preacher, the church is an independent inter-denominational church, which focuses on the Word of God. They invite anyone to attend, regardless of religious background, but GCC maintains the teachings of Jesus Christ. Recently, GCC joined affiliation with the Evangelical Free Church of America.

Bible studies are still in full swing. Community people and churches are welcome to attend without obligation.

The Community Ladies Bible Study meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the local Court House Coffee Shop at 7 p.m. and continues to meet the rest of the month at GCC at 7 p.m.

The Community Men’s Bible Study meets the first Tuesday of the month at GCC at 7 p.m. and the third Tuesday of the month at the local Court House Coffee at 7 p.m.
